Dear Students, Coaches and Parents:

After four very rewarding years, we regret to announce that the last class of the Show Me Forensics Institute completed its work in July 2007. A number of factors have combined to make it less practical to continue to run SMFI on the Truman campus during the summer months. We have exprienced a great deal of success in the last four years, serving approximately 75 wonderful students and their coaches and we don't regret a minute of it! I want to take this opportunity to thank Don Crabtree, Tyler Unsell, and Jacob Stutzman--the founding staff of SMFI, as well as the administration and Board of Governors of Truman State University who have subsidized the program to keep student costs to a minimum.

While SMFI will no longer be running a summer institute on the Truman campus, the entity known as SMFI will continue to exist, but in a very different form. SMFI staff are currently working on plans for what we call "The SMFI Road Show," which will bring the same quality SMFI experience to communities throughout Missouri in the form of weekend workshops and seminars. Our hope is to launch the first of these within the next few months. Consequently, this site will remain online to facilitate interest in these seminars as they are created.
