Chris Outzen, Director of Forensics and Instructor of Communication

Chris Outzen began his college forensic career competing for the University of Northern Iowa while earning his BA in General Communication between 2007 and 2011. During his time there, Chris was a Quarterfinalist in After Dinner Speaking at the AFA-NIET and represented Iowa twice at the Interstate Oratorical Association tournament. He went on immediately to graduate school at Minnesota State University, Mankato, working toward his MFA-Forensics between 2011 and 2014. During this time, Chris was a coach for the Mankato forensic team and worked with several individual event quarterfinalists and semifinalists at both AFA and NFA in addition to MSU-Mankato’s representative at Interstate 2014. After successfully defending his thesis in Spring 2014, Chris joined Truman State University as the primary IE coach and an instructor of communication. He now serves as the overarching Director of Forensics for the Truman Forensics Union.
